A low level of civic identity of the population, a feeling of civic dignity, the lack of unity in linguistic, cultural, political and ideological preferences, historical consciousness are determined. A rather low level of people's trust to their environment, and to public institutions, especially government institutions and public administration is shown. The role of the social groups, whose activities directly affect the level of social solidarity - political institutions, civil society organizations, government agencies, churches, business and its dependent mass media, is estimated. The possible solidarity prospects of Ukrainian society are outlined. The conclusions, drawn on the basis of research, are supplemented by the recommendations for the government authorities and public institutions to take a significant step aimed at strengthening civilian identity, moral and value bases of solidarity, strengthening trust within society, especially enhancement the credibility to the political institutions and governance.
