Two models of the evolution of precipitates in thermal annealing and irradiation are developed and tested. For WWER-1000 RPV metal, a technique for prediction of maximum allowable fluence value is developed; the latter is defined as the fluence, at which the magnitude of the strength of the irradiated metal reaches a critical level. This level is determined accounting for both the parameters of the crack in the wall of the reactor pressure vessel and the loading value at emergency (pressurized thermal shock).
