The object of research is the key priorities and initiatives of Ukraine during its chairmanship in the CIS in 2014. The purpose of the 1st stage of the Scientific Research is to identify priorities and specify how to achieve goals during Ukrainian presidency in the CIS in all areas of cooperation, as well as the drafting of a detailed action plan in an internal field (including conferences, forums, etc.) to implement the concept of presidency. During the 1st stage of the research there were used key documents that govern the operation of the CIS in all three dimensions of sectoral cooperation, as well as current work and position papers of the leading countries of the Commonwealth, the working body of the CIS Executive Committee of the main issues on the agenda of the organization and their conducting.Theoretical and methodological foundations for the 1st stage of the study are a conceptual practice-theoretical approaches of the research. Methods of the research are methods of scientific knowledge in their dialectical unity including general scientific theoretical and empirical - analysis of expert opinions, historical, logical, and comparative analysis and method of strategic forecasting of political events.
