The former was obtained by isomorphic substitution of aluminium for silicon with ammonium hexafluorosilicate, the latter was obtained by alkaline withdrawal of silicon. It was shown that silicon enrichment of catalyst external surface promotes the side-chain alkylation of toluene whereas external surface desiliconization vice versa intensifies the benzene ring alkylation.
