The difference between the species was found in distribution of total genetic heterogeneity between and within populations. The studies confirmed the informativeness of selected markers and their applicability to assess the genetic diversity of investigated species. Cytogenetic analysis of I. pumila and G. lutea was performed, and chromosomal number of these species as well as the level of chromosomal abnormalities in anaphase of mitosis were identified. Potential prospectivity of cytogenetic analysis application to assess the diversity of these species was determined.
