Aim is to develop key theses of the state policy of Ukraine on the development of "green" economy based on foreign experience in the implementation of strategic documents and relevant national policies development. Research methods are general and special ones (i.e. retrospective analysis, the dialectical method, a systematic approach, induction, deduction, comparative analysis, methods of synthesis and grouping). Basic concept of the state policy of "green" economy in Ukraine was developed and measures to implement the concept were elaborated. Proposals concerning creation of the national system for monitoring the movement towards "green" economy, including its institutional structure, a system of indicators and their target values, were developed. The research results will be used by the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine to develop documents concerning "green" economy, to implement appropriate monitoring, as well as in current work of the Ministry.
