The goal of the work consists in analysis of interaction between a solitary wave and non-regular bottom. The results of experimental and numerical researches of the solitary wave that either propagates over a submerged step and vertical plate or attackes a sharp bank are presented. The type of interaction is shown to depend on ratio the wave amplitude to obstacle height. An influence of the vortical structures generated by a wave on free surface evolution is estimated. Experimental data characterising rolling of a solitary wave on the sharp bank are obtained. Internal waves generated near a horizontal plate in stratified fluid at different flow velocities and buoyancy frequencies are researched. It is shown those act considerably on dynamic characteristics of the plate.
