Ultrastructutral analysis proved that synaptic contacts of GPF-positive NPC with recipient neurons corresponded to structural features of matured synapses, namely: pool of synaptic vesicles in presynaptic area, synaptic cleft and postsynaptic density. The formation of matured synapses by NPS indicated that NPC were capable to restore function of hippocampus damaged tissue and manifested the certain regenerative potential in ischemia in vivo and in vitro.
