There were grown saphhire crystals of the dimensions 350x500x45 mm3 (with a diagonal of approximately 610 mm) and R-orientation on the surface. The crystals have low level of residual stresses which testifies to their high cracking resistance. The structure perfection of the crystals with the orientation (0001) on the surface was essentially increased.
