The aim of work is forming methodological and practical provisions of ensuring economic balance of industrial enterprises, developing of methodological approaches and tools that form the basis for sustainable development of the enterprise. Methods: systems analysis, specification and the method of creating a theory - for theoretical generalization of the research results, the determination of the general laws of the chosen topic, methods of statistical analysis, induction, deduction, and the economic and mathematical methods - to assess the economic balance and efficiency of the coal industry, the method of observation and modeling of a hypothetical method - to test and validate research results. The current trends of economic activities of industrial enterprises of Ukraine are analyzed in the paper. The general situation in the coal industry as a guarantor of energy security of the country is evaluated in terms of economic balance. The conditions of the achievements and the consequences of violating the economic balance of enterprise development are researched. Recommendations for the development of a balanced scorecard (for example, State Enterprise "Artemugol") are generated. The methods of evaluating and ensuring the financial balance of the enterprise are systematized. An effective program of development of the company in terms of financial balance is formed. The results of research are brought to the level of guidelines, which provide a basis for the further enrichment of the theory and practice of sustainable development of the coal industry.
