Research purpose - to improve the technology of cryopreservation of stallion semen in 0.5 ml straws which provides a sealed and secure package, cost saving and high fertilizing capacity of sperm in the genital kriodepreserved mares cycles at 60% at the first insemination for the preservation, improvement and rational use of the gene pool breeds of horses in Ukraine. Methodical aspects of stallion semen collection are validated; composition of diluter for stallion semen is improved; qualitative and quantitative indicators of stallion semen of different breed are estimated; it is established that purified and homogenized using centrifugation egg-yolk as cryoprotector contributes to better to rate of thawed semen; activity of different diluters on morphological parameters and on intensity of spermium in the process of equilibration is analyzed; stability of spermium to cryopreservation by blood biological parameters is examined. It is suggested to pack stallion semen for cryopreservation in 0.5 ml straws using French equipment or analogues.
