The aim of the work is to analyze the general condition of technogenic and natural security in Ukraine in 2012, provide detailed review of achievements and existing gaps in this area, formulate main tasks for improving the system of technogenic and natural security in 2013. Preparation of national reports on the state of technogenic and natural safety in Ukraine in 2012. Research method - analytical. Scientific novelty of the study is in the formulation of the key problems on the field of civil protection and its solutions, based on the findings of the study. During the work, research directions were selected: the analysis of existing legal framework, scientific and technical literature and materials about the state technogenic and natural security in Ukraine in 2012; analysis and comparison of the results of monitoring of existing natural and man-made threats based on the regional characteristics, tendencies of emergency occurrence, effectiveness of emergency response. Results of research and technogenic security of Ukraine in 2012 were generalized and systematized, conclusions on the most important problems in the field of civil protections and recommendations about is solution were formulated. As a result of this work, a draft National Report was developed. The report was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, and executive authorities were instructed to consider the findings and recommendations of the report for actions in the field of human and terrestrial protection in case of emergency situations. The degree of implementation - publication and dissemination of the National Report, according to the instruction of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
