The sources' base of the study was formed; the plan-prospectus of the collective monograph "Ukrainians in the world civilization process: historical experience and the perspectives" is worked out; the place and role of the Ukrainian national component in the world civilization as well as the perspectives of its integration to the common European space are clarified; the stages and peculiarities of the civilization process in Ukraine as the country of European frontier are detected; the new vision of modern civilization as macro-cultural socio-historical structures as well as the criterions of their typology is proposed; the Ukrainian model of the unity of Christianity is analyzed; the process of formation and activity of the Ukrainian church hierarchy of early modern time is analyzed in the European context; the role and place of the Ukrainian church's elite in Russian empire is found out; the interconnection between political and socio-cultural processes in Ukrainian society with geopolitical and cultural phenomena in Europe at the end of 19th - on the beginning of 21st century are researched; the peculiarities of the development of Ukraine on the age of totalitarianism are investigated; the manifestations of nation-cultural identity of Ukrainian Diaspora and the strategies of development of Ukraine proposed by its thinkers are studied.
