At the second stage it would be appropriate to inject zinc into the primary coolant. Zinc positively influences on corrosion behavior of austenitic stainless steels X18H10T at temperatures 275, 300, 325 and 350°C in the WWER primary coolant. Addition of zinc at concentrations 0,01 and 0,03mg/dm3 leads to formation of more compact oxide films on stainless steels. Corrosion resistance of stainless steels is high in the WWER primary coolant with zinc addition. The calculated corrosion rate does not exceed 1 micron per year. Carrying out experimental research approved the absence of negative influence of zinc addition on corrosion behavior of zirconium alloys. According to the research results it was concluded that zinc injection into the WWER primary coolant leads to the decrease of corrosion processes on stainless steels. These results are important for extension of operation terms and at high burn-ups at Ukrainian NPPs. Product Description popup.authors Грицина В.М. Зуйок В.А. Красноруцький В.С. Петельгузов І. А.
