One of the main subsequent effect of forced intervention of the state in agrarian sphere has become the Great Famine of 1932-1933. It insulted the main agricultural regions of USSR and provoked massive demographic losses in Ukraine. There are a large amount of research devoted to the Holodomor that represent varied interpretations of causes and consequences of the Great Famine, particularly marked by influence of political situation. Therefore, this issue requires up-to-date studies to be conducted as well as rethinking of key historical facts on the basis of impartial analysis of archive sources. It should be noted that some problem especially mechanism of the Holodomor influence on collective memory and mentality of the Ukrainian people still have been remaining unresearched. The same concerns issue of using of Holodomor in political practices. The proposed collection of scientific articles contributes to clarifying of causes, mechanisms of the Holodomor emergence, its impact on the Ukrainian historical memory and people's life before and after 1991.
