The blanks are produced on mechanical presses by drawing-out. Limit technological capacities of pulse EH forming of aluminum box-type parts are established, and, in particular, the possible ways to obtain the minimum angular radii on the part. Electric parameters of pulse EH forming at which the required accuracy of the part shape can be reached are determined, and the experimental series of the parts is produced. Working drawings of the die for making the part are developed, and the die is produced for the press which differs essentially from conventional EH press in design and engineering parameters. The die kept the stability of sizes of the shape forming area in the process of pilot series production, reliable sealing of the discharge chamber, and tight seating of the part in the die. It also provided the possibility to vacuumize the hollow between the blank and the matrix, extract the treated part from the die without any damage, and generally satisfied to other requirements of the process.
