The defects characterized by general features and causes of their formation are divided into separate groups. The main technological factors that greatly influence the crack formation were studied. Measures and recommendations of technological and metallurgical nature for prevention of occurrence of crack-like defects in welded joint metal during pipe production have been worked out.
