Paton Electric Welding Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description2 The method for estimation of total probability of SCC initiation at the pipline's section based on the product of numerical values of independent SCC factors such as " pipe's corrosion ", " pipe's protection against corrosion" and "mechanical stress" was designed. The method consists of two stages: at the first stage the probability of SCC initiation is assessed using the data of design, executor and maintenance documentation, on the second - using the data of ground-based diagnostic and laboratory tests. The approbation of the developed method based on analysis of available data as regards of pipeline 21.6 km length from CS ("Cherkasytransgas") was carried out. It was shown that at the pipe's sections defined as potentially stress corrosion dangerous according to the design, executor and maintenance documentation while maintaining active and passive protection in accordance with DSTU 4219 SCC probability is significantly reduced.
