The aim of the work - first try of cooperation with scientists of science - research centre in the university of Primorska in Koper and the department of archeology and ethnology of Odessa National university named by I.I.Mechnikov in Ukraine. By the way of such cooperation we are going to create new perspectives of cooperation in both directions and wider international sphere. On the results of the recent research was set up the joint topical and methodological background, formed out the united conceptual projection multiside works. Methods of research are comparative analysis of past and modern practice of citizens of the port of Odessa and Koper with Triest. Empirical material was found by the ethnographical and sociological methods. During the generalization were used structural and functional typological analysis. By comparison of two historic-ethnographical seaside regions of Europe - Adriatic and Black sea -were improved terms "presention of city", "urban process", "ethnic structure", "identity of citizens in conditions of borderland", "migrations as the way of forming and developing of population". By this understanding was created the strategy of the cooperation. The Odessa team approbate the methodic in research two thematic directions - studying the identity of the Odessa citizens and the citizens of regions, and also the potential and mechanisms of migrations and moving. It was defined, that specialties of seaside regions can be represent by the methods of "Lands between".
