Purpose of the research is to determine maximally possible volumes of storage of the tails of Hydrometallurgical Plant (HMP) in tailings storage facility "KBZh" taking into account technical and ecological limitations of the district of location, observing the regulations acting in Ukraine and development of technical decisions on depreservation of tailings storage facility "KBZh". Method of the research is the analysis of factors limiting the capacity of the tailings storage facility, prospecting work on determination of quantitative and qualitative composition of the material which will be used for erection of dikes, cost estimate of depreservation, environmental impact assessment. Results of the research - the maximal amount of HMP's waste, which it is possible to store in tailings storage facility "KBZh", will be determined, in accordance with the requirements of the regulations of Ukraine; the cost estimate of depreservation of tailings storage facility "KBZh" will be executed. Scientific novelty is the analysis of possibility of depreservation of tailings storage facility "KBZh" taking into account limiting conditions. Social value: the availability of additional capacities for uranium raw material processing waste storage will make it possible to decide the issues of functioning of SE "VostGOK" HMP, which provides the population of Zhovti Vody with workplaces. The results of the research will be used for the estimation of possibility of depreservation of tailings storage facility "KBZh" for HMP's waste storage. Prognosis proposals on development of the research subject: development of the project on depreservation of tailings storage facility "KBZh" for HMP's waste storage.
