The comparison of the SAGE and microarray analysis identified 30 genes, 5 - fold changes of the expression of which in glioblastoma, the most malignant stage of development of astrocytic gliomas as compared to normal brain, confirmed by both methods. RNA analysis of surgical specimens confirmed gene expression changes in glioblastoma compared to normal human brain. 474 genes with a heterogeneous distribution of the expression in glioblastomas were identified by entropy analysis. 92 genes whose expression distribution in glioblastomas is twomodal. Data on the expression of these genes in the individual glioblastoma samples will be used for determining of molecular subgroups of them.
