Altered glycosylation of antibodies was detected in rheumatic diseases, regardless of the grade of disease severity, including SLEDAI index. Altered glycosylic determinants can be used as a prognostic marker for chronic inflammation. The proposed method of lectin-ELISA can effectively assess the level of exposure of glycosylic residues in serum samples.
