Karazin popup.description2 The main goal of this study - synthesis and investigation of novel derivatives of spyropyrane series with extended conjugated system as prospective photochromic materials capable to emit fluorescence light in their starting and final forms of photochemical transformations. A series of potentially photochromic molecules on the base of spyropyrane bicycle was synthesized, their chemical structure was proved by modern physico-chemical methods. Optical and photochemical characteristics of the compounds on study were investigated both in liquid homogeneous solutions and in solid polymer films. High velocity of the reversed "dark" chemical processes leading to restoration of the initial spyro-structure was determined for the spyrocyclic compounds in polymeric media. The quantum-chemical modeling of the molecular structure and spectra of the benzofuranic spyropyranes were conducted as well.
