The optimum conditions for the synthesis of nanocomposites (type of solvent, temperature range and duration of high temperature treatment) in order to obtain nanoparticles CeO2/SiO2 with predetermined size of 3-25 nm have been determined. Their structural characteristics have been investigated. The surface area has been defined by the method of low-temperature argon desorption. The average size of nanoparticles has been calculated according to the X-ray diffraction (XRD) data. The functionalization of synthesized nanocomposites CeO2/SiO2 and a series of nanosized pyrogenic oxides (SiO2, Al2O3, Al2O3/SiO2 and TiO2/SiO2) by a reaction series of aliphatic carboxylic acids (C2-C18) has been done.
