The purpose of the study is to determine physical conditions of modifying and technological parameters of electrohydropulse and pulse current treatment of melts providing for an efficient action of modifying elements, structure and mechanical properties of hypereutectic silumins in accordance with the requirements of the modern car industry. It is proved that complex methods combining phosphorous copper insertion into the melt and electrohydropulse treatment of the melt as compared to a separate method definitely provide for double refining of fragile structural components in hypereutectic silumins, and the elongation makes more than 1%. Use of the silicocarbide disperse powder as a modifier contributes to refining of primary silicon crystals to 20 µm with total involvement of modifier particles into the crystallization process due to EHPT.
