Information × Registration Number 0213U007301, 0111U007506 , R & D reports Title Determination of causes of secondary circuit pipelines destruction to substantiate the life extension and operation safety o NPS power units popup.stage_title Head Ozhigov Leonid Semenovich, Registration Date 02-07-2013 Organization National Science Center "Kharkiv Institute of Physics and Technology popup.description2 Report on SRW: pages-78, fig.-50, tables-9, references-29 Mechanism of erosive-corrosive wear of low-carbon tube steels was studied by a complex of material science methods (metallography, mechanical tests, electron microscopy, hydrogen mass-spectroscopy).On the example of flat-spiral elements (FSTE) of SUNPS is shown that the cause of increased and non-uniform wear of steel 20 is in the characteristic of it's ferrite-perlitic structure and in the distortion of this structure in the result of plastic deformation on fabrication of FSTE. In operational conditions the oxide are settled on the "islands" of perlitic phase; these oxides don't form the protective film. Therefore perlite oxidizes and is washed-off by the flows of coolant. In the result the pitted relief from ferritic structure forms on the surface which stimulates erosion and continuous process of erosive-corrosive wear .Possibilities of life extension of the tube steel 20 at the expanse of microstructure improvement are examined; this improvement may be also realized by deposition of protective erosion-corrosion resistant coatings. Long-term reactor tests of model specimens of steel 20 with coatings on the base of Cr, Ti, Mo with nitrogen are carried out; these coatings were produced by the special methods developed in NSC KIPT. On the base of the performed tests the optimal composition of coatings with high erosion-corrosion resistance is determined. On the base of the proposed mathematical model of defect production in heat-exchanging tubes of steam generators of power units of WWER-1000 the procedure of prediction of necessary measurements during the planned control is developed. This may serve as the base for the use of obtained results in the planning of necessary extent of control of some steam generators.
