As a result of the completed analytical review of publications, the conclusions of theoretical and experimental research of physical properties of an electrical discharge in a fluid under elevated hydrostatic pressure and conditions necessary for the increase of its efficiency as an impact source for the materials or methods of energy conversion currently available were presented. To enhance the electrical explosion efficiency in a condensed medium it is necessary to provide the highest possible electrical field intensity in a discharge circuit and low inductance of the discharge circuit.
