However, the film formation from aqueous dispersions in comparison with films formed from solvent-based polymers; their physical properties including strength and water resistance have worse performance due to the presence in their structure of surfactants. Under these circumstances in polymer compositions melamine-formaldehyde crosslinking agents are added, which deteriorates safety of textile product, both during its manufacture and during use of finished articles. There are strict rules on the presence of free formaldehyde on the surface of textile material for children's range and goods which are in direct contact with human skin. In order to comply with these requirements the polymer finishing compositions exclude resin-forming precondensates, and provide the strength due to development of polymer blends. Textile industry is constantly updating the range of textiles for garments. Toward a new perspective range of composite materials are referred including composite textile materials obtained by polymer film-forming technology. These materials are characterized by high physical-mechanical, hygienic and operating properties, however, have increased flammability, which hinders their application in cloth industry and other goods for domestic and industrial purposes. In this context comprehensive research aimed at developing ways to provide flame-retardant properties to the composite textile materials is an important issue.
