The purpose of this study is to develop models of solid waste management in Ladyzhyn and to identify ways of implementing the most appropriate of developed models that will solve problem of solid waste management in this region. The situation of municipal solid waste (MSW) managemenet in Ladyzhyn is analyzed. It includes: organizations which are involved in solid waste processing, projects and programs that are being implemented or approved in Ladyzhyn, tariff policy and legal framework, morphological composition of MSW, hazardous municipal waste management, conditions of existing landfill and the program of measures which are necessary to ensure its environmental safety, the possibility of introduction of separate collection of MSW, the level of ecological awareness, the necessity of implementation of educational activities and organizations that are interested in obtaining waste materials for processing, prices for waste materials, developing and analyzing of possible models of MSW management in Ladyzhyn. Also the optimal model of MSW management and action plan for its implementation are developed.
