Object of research - the active forms of speech activity during language testing of personnel of the Army in accordance with NATO STANAG 6001. Purpose of research - to develop criteria and scales for evaluation of foreign language communicative competence in speaking and writing, and methodical recommendations for their use during language testing of personnel of the Army of the Armed Forces of Ukraine under standart language levels 1,2,3 and transition levels based on species specific language training. Research methods - analysis and synthesis of information on scientific and educational sources on issues of language testing, systematization of methodological materials and information on the development of criteria and scale of evaluation of knowledge levels of foreign languages and practical experience in its carrying out in educational and scientific center of language training and the Department of Foreign Languages and Military Translation of Army Academy named after hetman P.Sahaidachny. The results of research are implemented in practice during the initial, intermediate (modular) and final test trials of cadets of Academy, as well as to determine during final exam language competence level of officers - students of foreign languages and individual soldiers respective status, which implies the need of knowledge of foreign languages and their use in official activities. Tests are in the data bank of Education and Research Centre of language training and is the intellectual property of the Army Academy.
