Purpose of the research is forming theoretical grounds and development of scientific and practical recommendations on bringing economic and environmental development of Ukraine in line with sustainable development principles of EU on the basis of designing and implementation of population coevolution economic and mathematical model. Research methods are system approach, system-dynamic modeling, graphic method, spatial analysis, agent modeling. Theoretical and practical results: 1) the system dynamics model of the region (the EU and Ukraine) is designed, 2) evolutionary models of the EU and Ukraine synthesized with agent-based modeling, 3) model of parameterization economic and environmental development of the EU and Ukraine has been completed, 4) experiments with the model of co-evolution of the EU and Ukraine conducted with the interpretation of results, 5) the long-term target indicator of economic and environmental development of the EU and Ukraine formed that reflects the possibility of regulating sustainability of European geopolitical space, 6) recommendations to bring the economic and environmental development of Ukraine in accordance with the principles of sustainable development of the EU developed. Scientific novelty: for the first time the model of co-evolution of economic and ecological systems of the two areas with different levels of technological development designed to provide interactive altruistic and selfish economic subpopulations; target indicator of long-term economic and environmental development shaped and priorities balanced development of Ukraine are defined. Implementation sphere - priority environmental financing and grounding of Ukraine's integration into the EU on the principles of sustainable development on national and regional levels.
