Kavetsky Institute of Experimental Pathology, Oncology and Radiobiology popup.description2 Chromosomal aberrations of peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBL) of endometrial (EC) and ovarian (OC) cancer patients and their relatives and microsatelite instability in endometrial adenocarcinomas have been studied. Cytogenetics analysis of PBL in EC and OC patients has shown that in patients with family history of cancer genome destabilization was significantly increased compared to control healthy patients. After bleomycin treatment in PBL of cancer patients the presence of chromosomal fragile sites has been determined. Microsatelite instability was found in 10,7% of EC cases, which was associated with agressive clinical and morphological features of endometrial adenocarcinomas and correlated with genome destabilization in PBL and family history of cancer. These results of cytogenetics study can be used in examination of healthy women from families with EC and OC history and can be usefull for effective selection of high cancer risk patients.
