A.Romodanov, AMS of Ukraine" popup.description2 Purpose of study: to improve results of functional regeneration of peripheral nerves (PN) through utilization of nerve guidance tubes with modified intraluminal space at surgical reconstruction of large PN gap, to define advantages of nerve guidance tubes with modified intraluminal space at surgical reconstruction of large PN gap and to compare the results of regeneration with "gold standard" - autologous nerve grafting. Object of study: to objectify processes of regeneration of PN in post-op period. Subject of study: to study the influence of nerve guidance tubes with modified intraluminal space on regeneration processes at surgical reconstruction of large PN gap during the experiment, complex evaluation of functional regeneration of PN in dependence on modification of intraluminal space of nerve guidance tubes. Methods: to assess the regeneration of peripheral nerve we utilized 3 general and most commonly applied methods: electrophysiologic, hystomorphometric and functional methods. Results: silicone-based tubular prosthesis with modified intraluminal space (NeurogelTM, NeurogelTM, saturated with NGF-B) at bridging 10mm ret sciatic nerve gap promotes similar to autograft nerve regeneration and functional recovery. This work established the platform for further development of the use silicone-based nerve conduits with modified intraluminal space for clinical nerve repair.
