Nd16Fe73.9Zr2.1B8 alloy was studied at hydrogen pressures below 0.1 MPa and temperatures below 700 °C during hydrogenation disproportionation (HD) and at temperatures up to 900 °C during desorption, recombination (DR). The alloy was milled in hydrogen and hydrogen saturated alloy also was milled in oleic acid. It was shown that powder particles are anisotropic with low dispersion (5-10 microns) at low milling frequency. The increase of milling frequency leads to the reduction of powder particles size to 100-350 nm, but they are isotropic through agglomeration in the result of mechanical fusion. The milling of hydrogen saturated alloy in oleic acid prevents agglomeration of anisotropic powder fine particles. HDDR conditions in milled alloy were established. Nd16Fe73.9Zr2.1B8 alloy powders disproportionate at hydrogen pressures below 1 atm. These powders have high reactivity. The neodymium oxidation was observed during heating in forevacuum both at disproportionation and recombination. Influence of preparation methods magnets on their anisotropy and density was estimated.
