Aim of the study - to study the molecular mechanisms of interaction of Scots pine and phytopathogenic microorganisms for the development of environmentally safe means of protection of forest stands against the most dangerous forest diseases. Research methods - physiological-biochemical, molecular-genetic, microbiological, genetic-engineering, immunological and immunohistochemical. Two antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) defensin and lipid -transfer protein, which are characterized by high activity against plant pathogenic fungi of the genera Fusarium, Alternaria, Heterobasidion, Botrytis were purified from the Scots pine tissues. Nucleotide sequences encoding a lipid - transfer protein 1 (PsLTP1) and defensin 3 (PsDef3) from a Scots pine were registered in GenBank under accession numbers JN980401.1 JN980402.1, respectively. Using semi-quantitative RT-PCR analysis it was showed that genes PsDef1, PsDef2 and PsLTP1 are constitutively expressed in vegetative and reproductive tissues of Scots pine. It was found that jasmonic and salicylic acids induce gene expression of PsDef1, PsDef2, PsDef3, and heteroauxin - PsLTP1. Bacteria Pseudomonas abietaniphila had a stimulating effect on the growth and development of Scots pine seedlings and increased its resistance to Heterobasidion annosum ss. The close correlation between the levels of defensin in pine seeds and their germination was established. It was determined spread of the root rot in a pine forest stand by molecular - genetic methods. Areas of application - woody plant physiology, forest phytopathology, ecology, forestry.
