The work objective is to develop the scientific bases of composite cathode materials making with low values of electron work function and high values of thermionic current density (to 1000 A/cm2) for their using in rocket-space engineering and other branch of industry. The results of thermionic properties research of the (100) CеB6 single-crystal cathodes, impregnated barium-scandium cathodes of tungsten sponge, LuB12, LuB4, LuB2 single-crystals are presented in the report. The mathematical model of discharges parameters description in technology plasma generator is presented. The discharge characteristics of inverse magnetron spray-type system with gas anode, sectioned cathode elements and axial plasma flows were studied.
