These ways, the previous forms of individual dependence on a society have not only weakened, but they have become fragile and unstable, appearing as “be called for”. The general tendency for individualization emerges. Globalization requires forming a planetary extent of identity. But the process is a contradictory one: on one hand, there can be regarded some diffusion of traditional identities; on the other hand, there is still a search for new identities. Investigates one of the major problems in modern political philosophy, which is the problem of identity in the context of issues of justice and dispute liberalism and communitarianism and peculiarities of its manifestations in social and cultural space of Ukraine and Russia. The basic features of the crisis of identity is a growing feeling of social injustice, loss of belonging to a certain community and self "life-world" and at the same time the ways to overcome this crisis suggested by modern philosophy was proposed. It is proved that for an adequate understanding of identity is its understanding as a personal task and personal responsibility, organically related to guidance on solidarity and recognition that require certain moral and intellectual effort. The meaning of “false identity” is analyzed through the concept of neglect and admittance. It is proved that the recognition of collective identity, the belonging to a certain cultural world can not be a principle obstacle to individual identity and search for latter is a return to a fair "living world", in contrary to oblivion and “colonization”. Intellectual strategies of the present are associated with a characteristic principle of priority of human values and practices of establishing of tolerant and dialogical truths. The author realizes the analysis of the contradictory nature of these processes taking into account that the implementation of the principle of priority of human values in the new thinking of the present assumes not the humiliation of local, individual, personal or intra-regional to global, but vice versa – the glorification of constructive activity of the separate, individual, concrete societies etc. to universal values of the world community. There are investigated the peculiarities of the «near», «other» and new identity construction taking place in the modern world and connected with a new interpretation of the «other».
