Purpose of the research is determination of efficient modes and conditions of the discharge-pulse synthesis of nanopowders of carbides of metals deriving from plasmochemical reactions between the ions of metal obtained by the electrical explosion and electrical erosion of conductors and the active nanoparticles of carbon in a high-strength paste obtained by electrodischarge treatment of organic liquids. It is shown that application of aluminum, columbium, and titanic electrodes in the processes of electrodischarge treatment of cyclohexane allows obtaining the carbides of metals. reactions between the ions of metal obtained by the electrical explosion and electrical erosion of conductors and the active nanoparticles of carbon in a high-strength paste obtained by It was offered to implement the carbon nanomaterials pase for an effective synthesis of the carbides of metals in the processes of the electrical explosion of conductors. Carbon pastes were produced by the electrodischarge treatment of hexane, heptane, cyclohexane, benzyl alcohol, kerosene, and diesel fuel. The carbon-containing pastes obtained by the method of the electrodischarge treatment of organic liquids had high density. Electroexplosion of tungsten conductors was carried out in the cylindrical shell filled by hexane with added carbon nanomaterials in the first case, and by the carbon paste gained by the method of electrodischarge treatment of kerosene. It follows from the results of X-ray analysis that in both cases the products of electroexplosion contain the nonstoichiometric tungsten carbide, while the pure tungsten was not revealed, i.e. the total tungsten bulk reacted with the carbon medium. When the carbon paste is applied, both the nonstoichiometric tungsten carbide and small quantities of tungsten bicarbide are synthesized.
