The aim – to create new effective corrosion and scale inhibitors on the basis of established patterns of interfacial processes involving ionic polyelectrolyte complexes. Research methods – kulonostatic, voltammetric, photocolorimetric, gravimetric, sedimentation The experimental samples of inhibitors were developed. One of them potently inhibited the process of scaling and the other one greatly slowed corrosion rate of steel in neutral media. Control technique of inhibitor concentrations by kulonostatic method was proposed. It was found that the inhibitory effect of polyelectrolytes and their complexes occurs by bind into a soluble complex calcium and magnesium ions, which leads to a decrease in the degree of supersaturation of the solution on the hardness cations, and the adsorption of organic substances on the precipitate crystals, blocking their growth centers. It was shown that steel corrosion in the presence of polyelectrolyte complexes mainly occurs on the free surface of the organic adsorbate and determined by their adsorption characteristics. Was established that adsorption takes place due to the displacement of the hydrophobic parts of macromolecules solvent, and by the specific interaction of the carboxyl and phosphonate groups with the surface of the steel.
