Purpose of work - on the basis of theoretical analysis of problem of diagnostics of explorer lines to probe possibilities to find damages in lines, determining the amount and distances to beginning of every damage and it's size. Research methods is a theoretical and experimental with the use of computer design. During implementation of Scientific research work where done followings tasks: 1) definition the types of cables and their description; 2) definition of damages what can arise up and what reasons result in such damage; 3) to consider the classic and modern models of explorer lines and define their applicability for a design. To consider the models of damages and conduct a design. Results of Scientific research work: 1) to consider the models of explorer cables of different structures, and also reasons of the cable systems degradation are considered with the purpose of determination of principle limitations in application both known and perspective methods of researches of structure of explorer lines. Founded limitations in low-frequencies and high-frequencies, which limits application of impulsive method of research; 2) the models of damages are offered in a cable bus that allows set potential problems in determination of type of damage, and also determinations of reason of appearance of such damage; 3) research of processes, which arise up in power air-tracks which arise up at damages by a design on the example of three-phase line with the use of Bergeron model, is conducted.
