The following proposed designs: steadyrest controlled by CNC system, adaptive steadyrest for compensation cutting forces and self-centering steadyrest provide the necessary rigidity of technological manufacturing system and the stability of the grinding process. The CAM system developed for automation of designing the control programs for CNC grinding machines ensures optimum control of the grinding process. In addition, the methodology and created applications evaluate the accuracy of the machined surface as a result of digital files, obtained by measuring the contact probe controlled by the control system directly on the machine. Characteristics of grinded mandrels, obtained during the experiments, fully confirm planned indicators: roughness and surface precision meets the demands (Ra <0,16mkm, roughness <0.03 mm, the deviation from roundness <0.02 mm, run-out of the working surface relative to the base 0,015mm). The possibility to manufacture mandrels with a curved generatrix is provided. The research results in increased performance of at least two times and the performance of process design (design of NC program) has been increased on the order (10).
