Using of such coatings as thermal barriers on the piston aluminum alloy increased its operating temperature up to 200 °C. The production technology of compact materials from WA powders of alloys Al-Cr-Fe, exceeding by mechanical properties at elevated temperatures all known wrought aluminum alloys was elaborated. The corrosion resistance of the materials containing the quasicrystalline phase was studied.
