Purpose: development of quality control program for X-ray imaging and optimization of patient's doses based on national diagnostic recommended levels (DRLs) for improvement of the efficiency of X-ray diagnostic and the reduction of radiation stochastic risks. Research methods and equipment: dosimetric (ionizational and thermoluminescent), expert's evaluation; thermoluminescent complex PCL-3, dosimeter TRIAD 10100, digital X-ray dosimeter ДРЦ-01, densitometer DensiX T52001, universal test-object for control of the diagnostic image's geometric parameters ТУР-01. Theoretical and practical results: the informativity of expert evaluation, based on EU criteria for radiograph image quality was evaluated. The control of radiation, technical and geometrical parameters for the 13 X-ray units of 5 Kharkiv regional and municipal hospitals was carried out, the estimation of image quality of 32 chest radiographs in by independent experts-radiologists have been made; the measurements of entrance surface doses of 404 patients for three different types of X-ray diagnostics investigations was performed, due to the phantom's simulations the 19 calculations of effective doses for three types of radiographic examinations of 9 X-Ray Diagnostic units was performed. Novelty: at first time the X-ray imaging quality control program for medical institutions of Ukraine and the ways of optimization for radiographic examinations of the chest by implementing "high voltage technology" were proposed. The methods of quality control of the X-ray images in Diagnostic radiology were developed. Area of potential usage: radiation hygiene, x-ray diagnostics.
