On this basis a model for inversion of acoustic sounding data into parameters of gas emission from seabed, taking into account nonsphericity of gas bubbles, has been developed. The model has been verified by means of comparing with the known analytical solutions and laboratory experimental results. As a result of field hydroacoustic observations in the 73rd and 74th tours of research vessel "Professor Vodyanitskiy" (June-July 2013) 50 gas flares (including 2 deep-water) have been found in the northwestern part of the Black Sea; a catalogue and electronic maps of their location have been designed. The new data on acoustic and kinematic characteristics of gas emission and estimate of methane fluxes from seabed in certain gas flares have been obtained. The research results extend the idea on gas emission distribution in the Black Sea economic area of Ukraine, on their productivity and connection with methane gas-hydrate sediments. The simulation model of sound backscattering in gas flares have been developed and the estimates for potential accuracy determination on gas-emitting sources location on the basis of acoustic sounding date are obtained.
