Objectives - determination of the fundamentals of carbonization of domestic and biological wastes in coal, catalytic conversion of volatile, and coal steam gasification. Methods of research - standard methods for solid fuel research and new methods for assessment of carbonization, catalytic conversion of volatile, coal gasification, and CO2 fixation processes. The catalytic conversion of volatile matter of natural and synthesized polymers mixture was investigated. Fe-catalyst of L.V. Pysarzhevsky Institute of Physical Chemistry of NAS of Ukraine and Ni- catalyst of Indian Institute of Petroleum were used for the conversion of volatile matter of polyester and cotton. Compared to carbonization without catalysts, an increase in hydrogen content in dry gaseous products of carbonization was: using Fe-catalyst in 3.6 times, and Ni-catalyst in 2.8 times. The coal with calorific value of 30.2 MJ/kg was obtained. Sunflower husk and algae carbonization without CO2 absorption and with CO2 absorption was investigated. MgO and monoethanolamine water solution were used for CO2 absorption. The hydrogen content in the gas was increased up to 26.0 vol. % after algae carbonization and up to 20.5 vol. % after sunflower husk carbonization due to CO2 absorption. After the steam gasification of coal (obtained from sunflower husk) at 745-770 oC using Ni-catalyst and lime, there was produced hydrogen-rich dry synthesis gas containing, wt . %: H2 = 72.5; CO = 13.6; CH4 = 2.5; CO2 = 11.4. The extent of CO2 absorption was 64.5 %. The dependence of reaction rate of sunflower husk fixed carbon with water vapor using Ni-catalyst on temperature was determined. Two principle circuits of the plants for the conversion of solid organic waste into hydrogen were developed. Product Description popup.authors Дудник О. М.
