Development of new solid-fuel hydrogen technologies for alternative power generation and chemical industry. popup.stage_title Head Dudnyk Oleksii, Registration Date 18-02-2014 Organization Coal Energy Technology Institute of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description2 Object of research - the catalytic conversion of brown and bituminous coals with CO2 absorption, reforming of solid fuel with a high content of tar, conversion of hydrogen and CO in liquid organic substances. Objectives - determination of the catalyst effect on an increase in the hydrogen content during coal carbonization and steam gasification of power-generating bituminous and brown coal cokes, the use of high-temperature steam reforming for the tar and soot conversion and production of liquid substances from synthesis gas. Methods of research - standard methods for solid fuel research and new methods for assessment of steam conversion of Ukrainian coals using the plants: for carbonization, steam gasification, two-stage conversion of solid fuels with a high content of tar and conversion of synthesis gas in liquid fuel. The increase in hydrogen content in the dry brown coal carbonization gas in 2.0, 3.4, and 9.3 times , respectively, is a result of the use of MgO ; Fe- catalyst ( CTK-1-5) and MgO; MgO and Ni-catalyst. Ni-catalyst was used to increase rate of coke/steam reaction, and calcined dolomite to capture CO2. Ni-catalyst and lime were used in case of gas coal coke steam gasification. The method for assessment of the hydrogen-rich gas production process was developed and tested. This gas is obtained as a result of solid fuel air gasification and residues high-temperature steam reforming. A block scheme of the CCP with ethylene carbonate production is developed. It can be removed 40 to 60 % CO2 without the use of CO2 disposal infrastructure at the CCP thermal efficiency of 63 to 70 % due to obtaining ethanol carbonate in the CCP scheme with brown coal closed cycle gasification. Liquid motor fuel is obtained at the outlet of the catalytic micro-channel reactor from hydrogen and CO. The resulting motor fuel consists of light fractions of 10.1 wt. %, kerosene of 44.0 wt. %, diesel fuel of 16.8 wt. %, and heavy oil of 29.1 wt. %. Product Description popup.authors Дудник О. М.
