Research methods - analysis of publishing products production, monitoring of obligatory publication copies documentary flow, analysis and information content of media materials. Results - combined publishing products administrative data according to major quantitative and qualitative indicators in 2012, reports and policy briefs on the issue of non-periodic, periodical and continued publications in Ukraine 2012, on the operation status and implementation of the law of Ukraine "On obligatory Copy of Documents" by the state publishing structures of the State Committee of Ukraine in 2012 and delivery of book publications according to the program "Ukrainian book" by publishing agents of Ukraine in 2012, operational data, analysis and production forecast of book publications in 2013; conclusions and practical recommendations based on monitoring of national and foreign media sources, including information on book publishing in Ukraine, updated database of Ukrainian and foreign media information in 2013, annual report on the implementation of this research. The novelty of the research: analysis of administrative data of publishing production in 2012-2013 according to quantitative and qualitative indicators, analysis of information sources detailing the current situation in Ukraine and abroad, confirms general conclusions and assessments of development trends. The results may be used by: the State Committee of Ukraine, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine and other state authorities to determine policy directions in publishing and information sector, media organizations.
