The object of research is a young drug users aged 14 to 25 years. The subject of the study is a model of behavior of young drug users aged 14 to 25 years. The objective of the research is: - Develop a research protocol - Develop a research instrument. - Receive the committee of professional ethics of sociolog from Sociological Association of Ukraine about the study protocol. - Coordinate research stages with regional non-governmental organizations - regional partners ICF "International HIV / AIDS Alliance in Ukraine". - Test a developed research instrument and make edits to it (if necessary). - To instruct training for interviewers. - Collect data on drug users. - Prepare an analytical report about the results of the study. - Develop recommendations about the forms and methods of prevention work among young drug users.? - Provide a customer technical report about the research and implementation of sampling. Hypotheses of the study: o youth, especially the "street children", there is a low level of knowledge about HIV and STIs; o injecting drug users additionally use non-injecting drugs for "getting high, huff" (get some pleasure) etc. That is a factor of polydrug. The project developed a protocol of operations research and developed tools. The study was conducted in 6 regions of Ukraine (Kyiv, Kharkiv, Gorlivka (Donetsk region), Lugansk, Uzhgorod, Alushta (Crimea). Study was conducted by such methods as semi-structured interviews and in-depth interviews. Sample size was 50 injecting drug users aged 14 to 25 years in each city ( semi-structured interviews), 50 non-injecting drug consumers aged 14 to 25 years in each city ( semi-structured interviews), 10 young IDUs in each city ( in-depth interviews). Conducted data collection revealed the knowledge of young drug users about HIV / STI, especially their attitude to risk of HIV and STIs, especially the manufacture of various types of drugs, especially drug this target group, including the experience and types of drugs, alcohol, their sexual behavior, usage of condoms during sexual intercourse with regular partners, their needs for preventive services and the most appropriate ways of providing them. As a result of the project was written analytical report about the results of operational research "of the behavior and attitudes towards HIV / AIDS of young drug users" and recommendations about the forms and methods of prevention work among young drug users.
