The urgency of the research has been conditioned by the importance of informational society development in Ukraine that is the society of knowledge in which the resources and innovational activity of libraries play the main role. For science and education, more than any other spheres of activity, need operative, timely and full information, quick, convenient, multi-aspect access to multi-thematic data bases, scientific periodicals, scientific literature, id. e. access to home and foreign research results. It is leading pedagogical libraries of the state that as informational branch centers have to solve the problem of electronic resources creation, providing unified access to them, to evaluate their authenticity and topicality, which can increase the quality of informational provision for scientists and practitioners of the field. With this in mind, during three years, scientists of V. Sukhomlynskyi State Scientific and Pedagogical Library of Ukraine developed the RSW “Theoretical Scientific and Practical Aspects of Integrated Branch Informational Resource Creation at V. Sukhomlynskyi State Scientific and Pedagogical Library of Ukraine” (scientific supervisor – candidate of historical sciences, senior researcher P. I. Rohova). The research is aimed at developing the organizational, theoretical, and technological principles of integrated branch informational resource (IBIR) creation at V. Sukhomlynskyi State Scientific and Pedagogical Library of Ukraine on pedagogy and psychology and its introduction in the activity of the network of educational libraries of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine. In order to achieve the aim, such research tasks have been formulated: – analyses of the sources base and terminology system of the research; – studying and generalization of world and home experience on creating IBIR; – revealing, defining and substantiating the essence, principles, structure content and functions of IBIR; – studying users’ informational demands for IBIR; – defining directions and methods of traditional and electronic IBIR formation; – developing a conception of IBIR; – developing and improving the system of secondary documents to satisfy demands of education scientists and practitioners of Ukraine; – providing access to IBIR in electronic and traditional form; – scientific and methodical providing the activity of the network of educational libraries of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine in order to form IBIR. V. Sukhomlynskyi State Scientific and Pedagogical Library of Ukraine will elaborate the project of the network leading libraries transformation into basic documentary-communicational complexes – elements of the national informational environment. For this purpose, resources of the network leading libraries, scientific principles of their formation will be analyzed, as well as peculiarities of users’ informational demands as a factor of library-informational provision system formation, conditions for efficient functioning of corporative scientific and informational system of the network of educational libraries of Ukraine.
