Purpose of work - correction of previously established patterns of change of the initial velocity of bullet depend on time of the storage of ammunition and impact of internal ballistics parameters to the changes of deterioration of barrels while firing ammunition after warranty shelf life. Research methods are experimental research, mathematical modeling of changes of physical and chemical properties of gunpowder and ballistic characteristics of weapon, methods of internal ballistics. Theory of weapon exploitation for conditions of use ammunition with long shelf life based on the accounting impact of ammunition on deterioration of barrels, as well as impact on external ballistics has been further developed. These research results can be used to correct previously established patterns of change barrels persistence of small arms ammunition from the storage term, forecasting ammunition ballistic properties depending on the time of storage and to develop recommendations to the ways of use of ammunition.
